‘The White Tribes’ by Lori Pond

August 7, 2013

The White Tribes is a series from little-know photographer Lori Pond. The pieces stand out from the rest of her work, and struck me for their resemblance to Hans Silvester’s Natural Fashions. Whether or not Lori drew inspiration from his photos I can’t say – there is almost no information available about the creation or thought process behind The White Tribes. Botanical headpieces and tribal fashion are nothing new, however, and I think these photos are worth viewing on their own merit. My favorite part has to be, of all things, the backgrounds full of just-slightly-blurred foliage. Although those aeonium glasses are pretty amazing.
