When it comes to plant pots, form doesn’t always follow function. A good pot needs adequate volume, drainage and protection from light and heat – facts that some trends (like mason jar planters) seem to overlook. Tried-and-true staples like terracotta or plastic nursery pots continue to get the job done in the most efficient and affordable way, but, if you’re a design-minded plant hoarder like myself, having a hideous collection of dirty, beat-up pots clustered on every available surface is a definite no-no.
Luckily, in 2012, craft and garden bloggers everywhere decided to provide us with plenty of ideas for sprucing up our everyday terracotta pots. Below are some of my favorites.
