Well, after dropping one too many things on top of my laptop, last week it finally decided it had had enough of me. Every time I experience catastrophic data loss (which has been twice so far this year), I think back to a “how to blog” post by the talented Allison Lehman. In it, she describes how her domain was hacked and all her data lost, thus the importance of always backing up your information. Instead of following this sound advice, however, I continue to tempt fate. And it never works out for me. All that having been said, my computer is back in working condition and I can get back to posting on a semi-regular basis.
Continuing in the spirit of Halloween, I present the beautiful pressed-flower skeletons of Japanese artist Asuka Tada, who is a mysterious figure herself. She’s the creative mind behind the brilliant ad campaign for Nishinihon Tenrei funeral services. Featuring a life-sized skeleton made of pressed flowers, the ad aims to bring a more lighthearted spirit to the business of funeral preparation, reminding viewers of the beauty to be found in the cycle of life, death and rebirth.
