ABOUT THE BLOG
Plant Propaganda is a horticultural design blog launched in 2012. It combines the informative aspects of a traditional garden blog with an artistic element, aimed at examining how plants interact with and inform our lives in all respects, from food to fashion to art and everything in between. The purpose of this blog is to disseminate “plant propaganda” – the notion that surrounding ourselves with, or at least appreciating, the plants who share this planet leads to a better, healthier and happier life.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My name is Delen Kitchen, and I am a plant lover of the highest degree. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Urban Horticulture and a minor in Film Production. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and in the summer of 2010 I completed an internship with the Oregon Garden in the small town of Silverton. I fell in love with public garden work, and the following summer I spent three months interning at the San Diego Botanic Garden. During that period I met the most handsome man in the world, and relocated to be with him soon after. I now live and work in San Diego, California, where I manage a small retail nursery and maintain Plant Propaganda in my free time.
