Underground by Aurelien Arbet and Jeremie Egry

August 29, 2013

Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry are, according to themselves, a transdisciplinary duo who together took the menswear world by storm with their brand Hixsept in 1999. Later, Hixsept was renamed Studio Études in order to better encompass the pair’s growing body of work. Below are a series of images created as a collaboration between the Brooklyn and Paris-based artists. Called Underground, the work either reimagines household objects as unexpected planters, or, if you tend to be of a more sinister persuasion like myself, seem more like what might happen after the world’s been left alone for a few years, say, post-apocalypse?
